A
range of microscopic techniques can be used to examine particles and larger
objects at magnifications ranging from x1 to x400. Samples can be examined
either in three-dimensions by binocular microscopy, or in thin section using
transmitted light microscopy. For specific purposes fluorescence light
microscopy can also be used. The images can be captured digitally and exported
for image analysis.
